Time to brighten up those #MundaneMondays with a quick indulgence into some wanderlust: vintage travel posters that just might inspire you to get packing and live abroad. Here’s a roundabout of the most tantalising images I could find, to invoke a little spark into your day.
I might be alone in this, but for me, advertising that pre-dates Photoshop is the most powerful. It’s appealing, artistic and- though I make no claims for its realism- inspires wanderlust down to the tips of your toes. I lap up ‘Mad Men’ ย dreaming about vintage travels for the modern girl.ย Know what I mean?
Doesn’t this make you want to pack your bags, don a hat and gloves and steam off to the other side of the world? Have you been lucky enough to experience any of these destinations already? France was one of my 10 countries to live in and I’ll put my hand up that there were many ladies in couture, and the fashion influence is still going strong in that city.
Which poster destination would you choose?

I do love the ads from back in the days too! It’s fun and quirky most of the time (while some are just downright offensive lol). Would be great to have one in my room. ๐
How cool is this!! I love travel-themed decor and art and I think these vintage travel posters would be great for a travel-themed office or bedroom. I have to hide my credit card now so I don’t go shopping. ๐
Wow! What a fun read and look back into time. I love the old school posters. I kinda want to frame some of these in my apartment. Like the one that says, “Java! Only 36 hours from Singapore.” I mean ONLY 36 hours! ๐
I love these vintage posters. I can’t decide which one I like the best. Perhaps the Java one?
These are so cool! My Mum lives in the USA with her partner and they have like 4 of these spotted around the house. Love things like this.
These are such a great gift idea. I would want the one of Peru to remind me of my time spent at Machu Picchu. It wa sone of the best trips of my life. I hope to go again someday, and having a poster in my office would really help me focus on reaching those goals.
I am allllll over the PERU poster!!! I love vintage travel posters – you have just made me want to buy these for xmas presents ๐ I also need one myself hehe. Great post – thanks for sharing
Wow, this is just amazing! I would really love to collect all that vintage travel posters and hang them all in my small room. This is something could drive me to dream more and motivate me to save money and travel the world.
I love a good old world charm photo as well. I especially love looking back at snapshots my mother or grandmother took when they were younger or even when we were younger and before you could edit photos or take a billion and keep just one. You know film cameras.. one shot and you’re done? Left us with some great family memories and some hilarious photos too. ^^
Very true, there’s something incredibly special about film cameras and their memories ๐
I love these posters so much. Wish I’d have a big big house where I can frame one of each country in different frames and make a mural out of it…. I can see it being so nice!!
Love retro! Had a lot in my home back in Denmark but would love to have some posters to inspire Daily ๐
Hehehehe! I used to think Andy Warhol themed bedroom would be a great idea. Well, retro could work some magic in that department too! ๐ Thanks for the awesome share! XX
These are great. I think I like the Kashmir one best, but’s a hard pick!
